My Review
★★★★★

I found this short story to be very fun and entertaining. I enjoyed it so much, that I wish it had been a full length book so that there would have been more to read! I think that this story is sweet and it made me smile to read it. The writing is easy to read and the characters are well developed. I found myself getting emotional along with them. This is a great example of how a story should be written.

Guest Post by the Author:

I asked Michelle what her inspiration was for this story. Here is what she wrote back:

I started the idea for Catch when my publisher told me my next novel wouldn't come out for six more months. Disappointed, I knew I had to get something else out there for my readers and thought about self-publishing something. I decided to write a short story with a romantic, happy ending. I'm kind of known for bittersweet endings, and I wanted this story to be truly happy and sweet. I knew I wanted my main character, Miranda, to fall in love with an unlikely love interest. Who is more unlikely than a purse thief? I then decided Miranda should be on vacation with her family, and about to move away to go to college. Since she's in such a transition period of her life, I liked what that awkwardness added to her character and the feel of the story.

I wasn't sure how Catch was going to end, which is odd for me because I always know my endings. This one, however, I decided to let lead me wherever it could go. I think when it comes to shorter works, I like to write a little more organically than I do with my novels.

Before I finished Catch, my publisher told me they were closing their doors. I was devastated, of course. I still am. However, Catch provided me with hope that I could move on and publish my own work here on out. I finished the story, hired my editor, and put the story out there in hopes that my fans would get some satisfaction out of it while I was in the midst of republishing all my other novels. It has been wonderful so far. Thank you for this opportunity to spread the word! I do hope others check out the story and enjoy Miranda's romp through Las Vegas with a purse thief named Ollie.
